Mediacorp named Broadcaster of the Year for second consecutive year at World Media Festivals 2026
Accolades across news, documentaries and drama series underscore Mediacorp’s leadership in trusted reporting and premium content creation
Singapore, 8 May 2026 – Mediacorp has once again been named Broadcaster of the Year at the World Media Festivals (WMF) Television & Corporate Media Awards 2026, marking its second consecutive win and reaffirming its position as a leading, trusted media network delivering high-quality journalism and compelling content to audiences in Singapore and beyond.
This special honour is awarded to an organisation whose work has shown outstanding excellence and impact across the media and communications industry. Together with this award, Mediacorp took home 48 accolades this year, including a Grand Award, 21 Gold and 25 Silver. Taken together, these wins reflect the breadth and consistency of Mediacorp’s storytelling across trusted journalism, in-depth documentaries and premium content. They span work that showcase editorial rigour, strong creative and production capabilities, and distinctive storytelling to deepen audience connection, illuminate complex issues, and bring Singapore perspectives to a wider audience.
Leading the wins is One “Orphan” Every Hour, which received a Grand Award alongside a Gold. The documentary stands out for its powerful and deeply human storytelling, reflecting Mediacorp’s continued commitment to inclusive narratives and its ability to deliver trusted, impactful content. Other notable winners include Insight: Asian Gen Zs Rise Up (News & Current Affairs: Reporting), and CNA Correspondent: They Are Coming Home (News & Current Affairs: Documentary), alongside documentary titles such as The Nuclear Option (Documentary: Technology & Future), Tuesday Report: Troubled Youths – Please Stay (Documentary: History & Biography), and The Earthquake Detectives (Documentary: Nature & Environment) and Bones of Contention (Documentary: Crime & Investigation), which were produced by Waveline and Elefant Films respectively.
On the entertainment front, Mediacorp’s Malay drama series Cuci, which explores post-trauma cleaning, was honoured with a Gold in the “Entertainment: Episodic” category. Additional Gold wins span a diverse range of genres and audiences, including for Chinese drama series Fixing Fate, produced by Nightjar Films; Chinese reality series Makan on Wheels 2 and Forbidding No More 3, produced by WaWa Pictures and Threesixzero Productions respectively; Malay drama Korban 2, produced by Monochromatic Pictures; and Tamil drama series Pinky Promise Thozhi, produced by CannonsN’Tulips.
