Mediacorp partners Linmon Media for Only Thirty-Five《三十五而已》, sequel to one of China’s most acclaimed dramas

Singapore, 3 December 2025 – Mediacorp has announced a collaboration with leading Chinese production powerhouse Linmon Media on Only Thirty-Five《三十五而已》, the sequel to one of China’s most acclaimed modern contemporary dramas, Nothing But Thirty《三十而已》. Supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority, the project, which was formalised through a collaboration announcement at the Asia TV Forum (ATF) today, signals a new chapter in Mediacorp’s continued expansion into premium international storytelling and reflects its growing creative influence across Asia.

This latest collaboration follows the signing of an MOU between the two companies at ATF last year, strengthening their shared vision to develop high-quality Asian content with strong global resonance.

In the sequel, audiences follow Gu Jia, who decides to start over in a new city after turning 35. Confident yet introspective, she joins forces with Jiang Lili, a resilient business leader rebuilding her life after overcoming a difficult period. Their unlikely partnership evolves into a story of trust, empathy, and renewal as they build a new domestic services company, and in the process, rediscover strength, purpose and the power of second chances.

Set across both China and Singapore, the Chinese drama series will bring together artistes from both countries and be filmed across both locations beginning in 2026. Blending Linmon Media’s signature storytelling finesse with Mediacorp’s creative expertise, the production will showcase the best of Asian talent and landscapes in a story that celebrates ambition, independence and reinvention in today’s fast-changing world.

Building on the enormous success of Nothing But Thirty《三十而已》, which drew more than 5.5 billion views on Tencent Video, held the top spot for 21 consecutive days, and sparked adaptations in Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and Korea, Only Thirty-Five《三十五而已》promises to bring fresh depth and contemporary relevance to the beloved story. Through its Singapore–China collaboration, this sequel also exemplifies Mediacorp’s ambition of championing co-productions that amplify diverse Asian voices and showcase Singapore’s creative capabilities on the global stage.

Mediacorp’s Chief Content Officer Virginia Lim shared, “Partnering with Linmon Media brings together complementary creative strengths to shape a sequel that remains authentic and relevant. The first series achieved enormous success, and the sequel continues that momentum with production taking place in both China and Singapore. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to thoughtful, well-crafted Asian storytelling that engages audiences in a meaningful and compelling way.”

Linmon Media’s Chairman and Founder Su Xiao 苏晓 said: “Overseas market expansion is a long-term strategic priority for Linmon Media, and we are committed to growing together with local markets and partners. The "co-creation" concept breaks the one-way nature of traditional cultural output: on the one hand, we export China's mature creative concepts and industry standards to Singapore and other regions to help enhance their film and television industry capabilities; on the other hand, we draw creative inspiration through overseas remakes to inform our domestic IP development.”

Mr Su added, “In Linmon Media's overseas journey, Singapore has become one of our most valued markets due to its hub status and advantages across Southeast Asia and the wider international market. We are delighted to partner with Mediacorp, a high-quality and innovative international production and broadcasting institution, and we look forward to further deepening the connection between Chinese IP and Singaporean audiences and promoting cultural exchanges between us.”
