Mediacorp’s flagship fundraiser President’s Star Charity to return this October
Singapore, 10 October 2023 – This October, get ready for the return of Mediacorp’s annual flagship fundraiser, the President’s Star Charity (PSC)! Themed “Respect for All” this year, the show supports a wide range of beneficiaries under the President’s Challenge and aims to rally the public in raising funds for vulnerable groups in Singapore.
With a slate of uplifting stage acts, the show promises to be a treat for all audiences. In her first PSC appearance, acclaimed international vocalist Anggun will headline the show to serenade with her originals Snow on the Sahara and A Love Before Time. Audiences will also get to see fresh artiste combinations, with versatile artiste Rishi Budhrani and returning host Diana Ser teaming up to co-present the live show, as well as Singapore Idol’s Taufik Batisah and homegrown opera tenor Jonathan Charles Tay taking to the stage their rendition of Elton John’s classic tune Your Song. They will be accompanied by local ensemble Orkestra Melayu Singapura and the all-girls choir ensemble from St. Margaret’s School (Secondary). The 25-strong Orkestra Melayu Singapura will also accompany local singer Aisyah Aziz in her rendition of the stirring ballad Rise Up, while local fan favourite Sebastian Tan, better known by his stage moniker Broadway Beng, will perform the soulful Hokkien track 爱拼才会赢 (Strive to Win).
Switching it up with a hip hop medley will be one of Star Awards 2023’s “Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes” Tasha Low and musicians Govin & Krsna, who will join forces with local rappers Sheikh Haikel, ShiGGa Shay, OmarKENOBI and Wheelsmith. Keeping up the high energy, popular artistes Denise Camillia Tan, Dhivya Raveen, Endang Rahayu and more will put on a dance item featuring BLACKPINK’s hit debut single Boombayah, staged by K-Pop dance choreographer Ronnie Chen.
Aside from dazzling performances, audiences will be treated to a special performance featuring President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Ms Jane Ittogi, and poet Stephanie Fam as they captivate audiences with their heartfelt reading of the poem Never Let Go. This performance will also feature Zoe Tay’s unique performance of the steel tongue drums, with violinist and pianist from Orkestra Melayu Singapura, and dancers from Diverse Abilities Dance Collective.
Audiences can cheer on Mediacorp artistes such as Ravi G, Azura Goh and Zhang Ze Tong, as they team up with National Para Athletes to conquer a rope pull challenge. And concluding the show, the finale song Save Your Tears will be performed by Taufik and Anggun as they lead all performers and caregivers onstage to sing together. Also not to be missed are the moving stories of beneficiaries and caregivers, which will be interspersed between the stage acts. Please refer to Annex A for the full list of performers.
Audiences may donate to PSC in any preferred amount up till 5 November. This can be done by scanning the QR code available on mediacorp.sg/psc, which will also be flashed on-screen during the show, or through the donation link. Please refer to Annex B for the donation QR code.

All proceeds from PSC will aid the 86 benefitting organisations backed by the President’s Challenge. These include Club HEAL (Hope, Empowerment, Acceptance & Love), a charity that supports the societal reintegration of individuals with mental health issues; ART:DIS, which is dedicated to offering opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in the arts; and TOUCH Community Services, a multi-service organisation spanning a spectrum of communal causes.
