OGS crowned Content Creator of the Year at The Pinwheels 2024

The digital storyteller also scooped two other awards at Singapore’s only digital content creator awards.

Singapore, 25 October 2024 – It’s a hat-trick of wins for OGS at The Pinwheels 2024! The local content creator won the coveted “Content Creator of the Year” title, as well as the “Content of the Year” award for its video My Final Farewell Before I Die, bagging $10,000 and $5,000 in production grants for each win, respectively. OGS also won a third award in the “Best Non-Fiction (Non-Scripted) Video” category for its video A Foodie’s Final Fight with Pancreatic Cancer.

The winners of this year’s The Pinwheels were revealed this evening at a by-invitation only awards show at Harbourfront Centre. The event featured groundbreaking electronic-orchestral musical act From Outer Grey by KoFlow and other sizzling performances by Singaporean dance group D’Kingsman, award-winning local singer-songwriter and music producer Shye, viral TikTok artiste Josh Makazo, up-and-coming singer WHYLucas, and Samba band Qara Rosa Batucada.

Presented by Bloomr.SG, Mediacorp’s content creator network, with support from YouTube, The Pinwheels celebrates excellence in digital content creation and underlines Mediacorp’s commitment to nurturing local talent and growing the content creator ecosystem in Singapore. The third edition of the awards saw a total of 564 entries submitted from passionate digital content creators – from budding storytellers to seasoned full-time professionals.

Of the 10 award categories, some closely watched ones included “Best Newcomer Video”, with winner Tanglish Studios taking home a $5,000 production grant for its video Desi Paktor – Singapore’s First Brown Dating Web Series; and the first-ever “Most Artistic Video” category, which went to KindnessSG for its video B-Greater – SKM feat Wheelsmith, KEYANA. The honour of “Most Innovative Video” went to Just Keep Thinking – winner of “Content Creator of the Year” and “Best Newcomer” at The Pinwheels 2023 – for its video Singapore’s Energy Story.
