Star Awards 2022 returns to Stars Avenue, where stars align and dreams come true!

Singapore, 16 February 2022 – Watch the stars align at Star Awards 2022 (SA2022), the biggest extravaganza of local entertainment as it marks its return to Stars Avenue this year! To be held at The Theatre at Mediacorp on 24 April, SA2022 is set to honour and celebrate the best of local content and talents in a highly anticipated show, aptly themed “When the stars align, dreams come true” 《星光荟聚 ，筑梦视界》.

This year, SA2022 will continue to honour the cream of the crop[1] in the local media industry across various performance and popularity categories, with the former to be judged by an esteemed panel made up of industry veterans and established media practitioners. In total, 18 awards will be presented:

5              Best Programme Host (Entertainment & Infotainment) 最佳综艺及资讯节目主持人

7              Young Talent Award 青苹果奖

8              Best Drama Serial 最佳戏剧

9              Best Entertainment Programme 最佳综艺节目

10           Best Entertainment Special Programme 最佳综艺特备节目

11           Best Infotainment Programme 最佳资讯节目

12           Best Short-form Drama Serial 最佳短篇戏剧

13           Best Short-form Entertainment Programme 最佳短篇综艺节目

14           Best Theme Song 最佳主题曲

15           Best Radio Programme 最佳电台节目

16           Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes 十大最受欢迎男艺人

17           Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes 十大最受欢迎女艺人

18           All-Time Favourite Artiste Award 超级红星奖

In terms of show content, viewers will also have much to look forward to this year! First surprise of SA2022 will feature award-winning actor Chen Hanwei 陈汉玮 as main host of the show, where fans can catch him in his first experience as a solo anchor host for an awards ceremony. But that’s not all. Viewers can also anticipate a refreshed Walk of Fame, with new exciting features such as a gigantic Zoom wall where fans will be invited to dial in to interact with their favourite artistes, as well as a special glamourous corner that looks to capture the artistes' best poses at the end of their red carpet walk.

The popular seven-hour Backstage Live commentary marathon launched last year also returns in SA2022, but with more exciting and interactive elements! A MY PICK! Awards will be held exclusively during Backstage Live, where the public can vote for special awards including: Favourite CP, the Male / Female Show Stealer, Most Hated Villain, Perfect Combo and the Most Attention-seeking New Gen Host.

And of course, the highlight of the night remains the Awards Ceremony itself, which will feature a special robot escort for the first time! This award-winning and locally produced LeoBot will be deployed to deliver the trophies to award winners so viewers can look forward to a very unique ceremony this year!
