Star Awards 2024: Popularity battles kick off with more nominees than ever before!
Singapore, 18 March 2024 – Get ready for an electrifying showdown at Star Awards 2024 (SA2024) as its popularity contests kick off with a record-breaking pool of nominees! Among them, 94 household names – 46 female and 48 male – are in pursuit of the “Top 10 Most Popular Artiste” accolade, which honours artistes with over five years of experience. Concurrently, 42 emerging talents with five or fewer years in the spotlight are competing for one of three spots in the category of “Most Popular Rising Star”. Now is the time to rally behind your favourites!
Themed “Ignite | Inspire | Impact | Influence” 【视界幻化 耀眼四方】, SA2024 is set to take place at the Theatre at Mediacorp on 21 April. As Singapore’s biggest celebration of content and talent in the local Chinese entertainment industry, the annual awards extravaganza simultaneously showcases Mediacorp’s commitment to engage audiences and amplify their voices, as the popularity polls play a decisive role in crowning the year’s most celebrated stars.
From 18 March, 12.00pm, fans can start voting for the “Top 10 Most Popular Male/Female Artiste” and “Most Popular Rising Star” awards at mediacorp.sg/StarAwards. In paving the way for a final sprint on show day, the voting portal for each award will remain open until 7.30pm and 5.00pm respectively on 21 April. Results of the vote, as verified by professional auditors, will make up 80% of the final results, with the remaining 20% determined by the Popularity Survey, which is conducted by an accredited market research company and reflects the views of various age groups across Singapore’s population.
In its ongoing celebration of established icons alongside fresh faces, SA2024 will also mark the induction of Ann Kok 郭舒贤 and Jesseca Liu 刘子绚into the “All-Time Favourite Artiste” hall of fame. This landmark achievement follows their impressive collections of 10 “Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste” awards each, and viewers can look forward to special show segments that spotlight their storied careers and enduring popularity.

But wait, there’s more! In a nod to the allure of local personalities and the characters they embody, fan favourites will also be celebrated across three MyPICK! Awards – “Favourite CP”, “The Show Stealer” and “Most Hated Villian”. The voting window for these awards opens from 18 March, 12.00pm to 14 April, 11.59pm, and victors will be crowned during the seven-hour Backstage LIVE marathon.
