Zaheerah Begum

Zaheerah is a Senior Journalist and Presenter with Tamil News. She has reported live from major events including the Trump-Kim Summit, ASEAN Summit, National Day rallies and the General Elections in 2015 and 2020. She was also deployed to New Delhi, India, for a special coverage of the general elections in 2019.

During her 6 years of service, Zaheerah has worked across digital and radio platforms as well. She has interviewed various local politicians and international celebrities.

Zaheerah has organized numerous outreach events for Tamil News to reach out to the members of the community, building relationships and establishing good rapport on the ground. She has also organized and presented Tamil News’s annual Deepavali special outdoor broadcast shows.

Zaheerah graduated with a Bachelor of Communications from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) with distinction.
