Star Awards 2026 – Voting Terms & Conditions

• The online voting campaign to which these Terms and Conditions apply (hereinafter referred to as the “Voting”) is produced by Mediacorp Pte Ltd and Mediacorp TV Singapore Pte Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “Mediacorp”). These Terms and Conditions shall apply to all stages of the Voting.

• All participants of the Voting must follow the procedures provided to them, including all instructions set out in this website, over the air or by any publicity materials provided by Mediacorp at any time and from time to time, including all instructions shown on screen during the programmes or otherwise.

• Unless otherwise stated in the Voting campaign itself, the Voting is open only to all voters with a valid meCONNECT account. The participant(s) warrant to Mediacorp that they have the legal capacity to participate in the Voting in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

• Your personal data will be collected, used, disclosed and/or processed by Mediacorp and the Mediacorp group of companies (collectively, for the purposes of this clause, “Mediacorp”) for the following purposes:
  • For Mediacorp or its designated representatives or business partners to provide goods and services to you or parties designated by you and matters ancillary thereto.
  • To verify and process payment when you purchase goods and services from Mediacorp.
  • For verification and record of your personal particulars including comparing it with information from other sources and using the information to communicate with you.
  • For research and analysis, including surveys and polls.
  • To send you notices, information, promotions and updates including marketing and advertising materials in relation to Mediacorp’s goods and services and those of third party organizations selected by Mediacorp.
  • To comply with any request from any third party or any order of court or directive from authorities investigating any alleged offence or misconduct or for the purposes of taking legal action against any you.

By participating in the Voting, you:

• consent to Mediacorp collecting, using, disclosing and/or processing your personal data for the purposes as described above;
• consent to Mediacorp transferring your personal data out of Singapore to Mediacorp’s third party service providers or agents for the purposes as described above.

• Each participant irrevocably releases Mediacorp from and against any and all claims, suits, liabilities, or damages which such person may have in connection with his or her particulars or information, being (i) used by Mediacorp (or any third party which Mediacorp has released the particulars/information to) in any manner or format; or (ii) disclosed or otherwise provided by Mediacorp to any third party as provided herein.
• Each participant shall bear each of their own costs and expenses incurred and/or arising from their participation in the Voting, including (without limitation), telecommunications, network, SMS and all such other charges and out-of-pocket expenses as may be incurred by each participant during or in connection with the Voting and no reimbursement may be sought from Mediacorp.
• The selection and number of judges, and the manner in which the Voting is conducted or judged, at each stage of the Voting shall be at Mediacorp’s sole and absolute discretion and the judges' and/or Mediacorp’s decision at all stages of the Voting is final. No enquiries, appeals, verbal or written, shall be entertained. The participants shall accept and abide by any and all decisions made by Mediacorp and/or the judges concerning, without limitation, the rules of the participation, the rules, procedures and regulations of the Voting, interviews with the participants (if any), the award of prizes (if any) and any other matters relating to the Voting including the production thereof.
• Mediacorp reserves the right to amend or vary any of these Terms and Conditions and the Voting without prior notice to any participant. By continuing to participate in the Voting you will be deemed to have accepted the amended and/or varied terms and conditions, which will be posted on this website. Mediacorp further reserves the right, without any liability to any participant(s), to disqualify any participant(s) from the Voting at any time at its discretion.
• Mediacorp shall be under no liability whatsoever to the participant(s) or the participant(s)' personal representatives, in respect of any loss, damage suffered by the participant(s) arising from or pursuant to the Voting or for any loss, damage or injury to life or property sustained by the participant(s) at any stage of the Voting and during production thereof, unless such loss, damage or injury is caused by Mediacorp’s gross and willful negligence.
• The participant shall indemnify and keep Mediacorp and its related/affiliated companies, officers, agents and employees (the “Indemnified Parties”) fully indemnified against any and all loss, damage, claims and costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) suffered and/or incurred by any of the Indemnified Parties as a result of the participant's breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
• By his/her participation, the participant accepts to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
• These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws ofthe Republic of Singapore.
• No third party shall have any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Party) Act of the Republic of Singapore.

Star Awards 2026 – BYD Awards Lucky Draw (“Contest”) Terms & Conditions

• Participants who participate in the Voting for the “BYD Favourite Male Character” and “BYD Favourite Female Character” award categories (collectively, the “Lucky Draw Categories”) will be automatically enrolled into the Contest, subject to fulfilment of the following conditions:
  • Participants must have a valid Singapore-registered contact number and will be required to submit such contact number when submitting a vote for any Lucky Draw Categories, for purposes of verification and to contact the winner;
  • If selected as a winner, participants must be able to be physically present in person in Singapore to receive the prize, at such date, time and venue as specified by Mediacorp. No proxies may be appointed by the winner to receive the prize on behalf of the winner; and
  • Full-time employees of Mediacorp and any related/affiliated companies and their respective immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
• Mechanics of the Contest
  • One (1) winner (the “Winner”) will be selected through a random draw conducted by Mediacorp on at such date, timing and venue to be published by Mediacorp, in the presence of an independent scrutineer (the “Lucky Draw”).
  • The Winner will be notified by Mediacorp via the Singapore-registered contact number used to participate in the Voting for the Lucky Draw Categories.
  • Results of the Contest will also announced during the live broadcast of “Star Awards 2026” on Channel 8, Channel U, mewatch and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel and will be published on https://www.mediacorp.sg/starawards.
• Prizes
  • The Winner will win a prize of one (1) BYD Sealion 6 DM-i (without COE).
  • The Winner shall be required to strictly adhere to instructions specified by Mediacorp from time to time for redemption of the prize. Without limitation to the foregoing:
    • The Winner must be physically present in person in Singapore to receive his/her prize at such date, time and venue as specified by Mediacorp. No proxies may be appointed by the winner to receive the prize on behalf of the winner.
    • Mediacorp may request for additional information from the Winner for purposes of prize redemption. The Winner will be solely responsible for providing Mediacorp with accurate details in connection with the receipt and redemption of the prize, and in the event that any failure and/or delay in prize redemption is due to any incorrect or incomplete information provided by the winner, the Winner shall fully indemnify Mediacorp for any losses and/or costs incurred.
    • If any redemption deadlines are specified by Mediacorp, the Winner must claim their prizes by the stipulated deadline.
    • Where required by Mediacorp, the Winner shall be responsible for liaising directly with the sponsor(s) of the prizes and all queries or transactions relating to the prizes shall be directed to the sponsor(s). Without limitation to the foregoing, Mediacorp shall bear no responsibility in facilitating the redemption of the prize, liaising with any sponsors and/or third party agents behalf of the Winner, or in investigating or resolving any disputes between the Winner and the sponsors or third party agents. Mediacorp shall not be responsible for providing any form of replacement or alternative prizes, or compensation in the event of any such disputes.
  • Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. In the event that the Winner, for any reason, is unable to or does not accept the prize in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, no other form of compensation will be supplied in lieu of that forfeited prize (or any part thereof).
  • Mediacorp and its sponsors reserve the right not to award any prizes, or to substitute or alter any of the prizes offered. In particular, where any prize (or part thereof) is unavailable, Mediacorp may (but shall not be obliged to) provide an alternative prize, in its sole and absolute discretion.
  • Participants acknowledge and agree that the prizes may be subject to such other terms and conditions as may be imposed by Mediacorp and/or any sponsors, third party agents and/or contractors engaged by Mediacorp to fulfil the delivery of prizes (if any).
  • By accepting a prize, a participant accepts full and complete responsibility for their own safety and welfare at all times and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, agrees that Mediacorp and its sponsors shall not be liable or responsible for any risks or damages associated with or arising out of the participant’s acceptance of the prize. Each participant expressly acknowledges and agrees that Mediacorp and its sponsors shall g. not be liable to any of the participant(s) for any injury, loss or damage whatsoever or howsoever caused arising directly or indirectly in connection with a contest, including any loss, damage or injury which may be incurred arising from the prizes. A participant) shall sign such waivers and releases as may be required by Mediacorp, failing which Mediacorp reserves the right to disqualify the participant. Mediacorp shall not be responsible or liable for any misinterpretation or misrepresentation of facts in respect of the prizes offered as published in any media, marketing or advertising materials.
  • Mediacorp and its sponsors and partners accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting any prize and all participants shall take sole responsibility for obtaining independent financial and tax advice in relation to any of the prizes won under this Contest.
• Disqualification of Winner(s)
  • In the event that a selected winner fails to fulfil the eligibility requirements, fails to produce the required supporting documents to verify his/her identity or other fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions, such winner may be disqualified from the Contest. In such event, Mediacorp reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to (i) select another winner to replace the disqualified winner in accordance with the process ; and/or (ii) forfeit the relevant prize (without any liability on the part of Mediacorp to any person) upon which Mediacorp may utilise and/or otherwise distribute the prize in such manner as it may determine in its sole and absolute discretion.
  • In respect of any prizes forfeited and/or withdrawn pursuant to these Terms and Conditions, Mediacorp may utilise and/or otherwise distribute such prize in such manner as it may determine in its sole and absolute discretion.
