BROADCAST SYSTEM INTEGRATION & CONSULTANCY
Drawing on decades of experience from developing, building and maintaining the broadcast infrastructure of the Mediacorp Group, the largest and most established broadcaster in Singapore, as well as supporting the needs of international broadcasters, we are leading in our technical expertise in the entire value chain of broadcast system.
For Mediacorp's free-to-air (FTA) radio & television broadcasting services, we have built the transmission infrastructures and are currently operating 6 FTA digital TV channels and 11 FTA FM radio stations. In digital transmission, we were amongst the first in the world to have built and operate a DVB-T2 TV transmission network with island-wide coverage for both outdoor and indoor receptions. Comprising of a main transmission facility and multiple repeater stations, these are located within the various parts of Singapore.
In conjunction with the development and operation of transmission facilities, we have also built and are running a Media Operation Centre to support the radio and TV playout and programme exchange deliveries for our clients and the various business units of Mediacorp.
TRANSMISSION SERVICES
Satellite Services
Our 24/7 Media Operation Centre offers quick turnaround and playout services. With strategically located dishes, we are able to offer excellent satellite uplink/ downlink facility in Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD). With excellent connectivity to international and regional satellites, we support international transmission and reception of live events and programmes. Our fully-steerable Earth Station provides quick turnaround even for ad-hoc requests and maximum flexibility to connect.
Media Content Delivery
If you require comprehensive coverage locally, our extensive Media Content Delivery link coverage (both fixed and portable) is second to none in Singapore. We provide video linkage anywhere in Singapore combined with the most experienced outside broadcast production team available. Some events covered include the Trump-Kim Summit 2018, ASEAN Summits and ASEAN Ministerial Meeting in Singapore, National Day Parade, National Day Rally and Formula 1 in Singapore, Youth Olympics 2010 and SEA Games 2015, just to name a few. By partnering with oversea major content delivery provider, our contribution and distribution capability is able to connect to 500+ of the world's largest content producers, distributors, and sports & event venues.
Terrestrial Transmission
With the knowledge and expertise in terrestrial transmission technology that we have acquired over the past decades since the launch of radio broadcast service in Singapore in 1936 & television in 1963, we have built our capability in transmission operations as well as system maintenance to provide a highly reliable analogue and digital terrestrial transmission for Mediacorp's digital television and FM radio services. These include the Programme Associated Data (PAD) services such as the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), Radio Data Service (RDS) and Closed Caption (CC). We also provide mobile and fixed television and radio reception surveys besides transmission field strength measurement and analysis.
PLAYOUT SERVICES
Mediacorp provides radio and TV playout services with 24 by 7 technical support. We set high standards to ensure maximum error-free performance and minimum channel downtime. Our services include playout services for local and international channels for terrestrial or satellite deliveries, playout of High Definition (HD) and new media content.
