A night of dreams realised at Mediacorp’s Pradhana Vizha as it celebrates excellence in local Indian entertainment
Singapore, 8 February 2026 – Cheers, standing ovations and emotional wins filled The Theatre at Mediacorp last night as Pradhana Vizha 2026 crowned its biggest winners in a spectacular celebration of Singapore’s local Indian entertainment industry. Marking its 21st edition, the annual awards ceremony unfolded under the inspiring theme “Dare to Dream”, honouring creative excellence while reaffirming Mediacorp’s commitment to nurturing talent and shaping the future of local Indian entertainment.
The celebratory evening began with the Red Carpet segment, Dare to Dream in Style, hosted by artistes Shamini G and Alawdin Ali, Mediacorp OLI 968 audio personality Rafee as well as content creators Yuva and Bharath from the Tamil podcast channel Vada Poche. Beloved stars arrived in striking ensembles inspired by the theme, transforming the red carpet into a vibrant showcase of individuality and confidence, while setting the tone for a night of celebration.
The live awards ceremony was led by hosting quartet Udaya Soundari, Jaya Ganesh Isuran, Karthikeyan Somasundaram and Mediacorp OLI 968 audio personality Ravi G, who brought high energy and effortless on-stage chemistry throughout the evening. Adding to the excitement, augmented reality visuals and dynamic effects were seamlessly woven into the performances and presentation, giving the show a fresh visual edge and marking an exciting step forward in Pradhana Vizha’s production innovation.
Throughout the evening, a total of 19 awards were presented across Performance and Programme categories, celebrating outstanding achievements in television, audio and digital content. The night’s biggest triumph belonged to the cast of the horror drama Karuvanam, produced by Storybots Asia, which secured five Performance awards, highlighting the cast’s striking and memorable performances. Vignesh Wadarajan took home “Best Actor” for his powerful portrayal as Adithya, a devoted husband drawn into harrowing circumstances, while Gayathri Segaran won “Best Supporting Actress” for her chilling portrayal of Saradha, a pivotal role in bringing hidden truths to light within the drama. Karthikeyan Somasundaram won “Best Supporting Actor” for his compelling performance as Pasupathy, a nuanced and protective character, while Udaya Soundari was recognised for “Best Performance in an Antagonist Role” for her emotionally layered portrayal of the protagonist Shalini. Rising talent Navya Muthukrishnan was also named “Most Promising Artiste” for her confident performance that signalled her potential as a breakout star.
In the Programme Categories, Mediacorp Eaglevision celebrated a strong night of wins, led by the mystery drama Pithamagan, which was named “Best Drama Series” for its compelling storytelling. The company’s production Pradhana Vizha 2025 also emerged as a standout, winning “Best Infotainment or Entertainment Series”, as well as “Best Original Track” for its theme song Vinnai Thodu, produced by Shabir Music Asia.
One of the evening’s most poignant moments came with the presentation of the “Lifetime Achievement Award” to Mdm Pavalakantham Azhagarsamy, who was honoured for her remarkable contributions to Tamil broadcast journalism. As a respected news presenter, mentor and industry stalwart in a career spanning more than four decades, she continues to mentor new generations of Tamil media professionals in the radio and television industry in Singapore today.
But that’s not all! Audiences also played a key role in the celebrations, casting their votes for the “Most Popular Male Personality” and “Most Popular Female Personality” awards. The winners, Guruu and Nisha Kumar, were crowned fan favourites, having won the hearts of fans through their craft and continued engagement with audiences.
